Windows not genuine message appears despite Windows stating it is activated
There is a Windows update that can cause this bug but it is resolved with a later update so the first thing to do is to put on all the latest Windows updates.
If this doesn't resolve the problem, the following generally will:
- Run command prompt as administrator
net stop sppsvc
cd \ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareProtectionPlatform
rename tokens.dat tokens.bar
cd \Windows\System32
net start sppsvc
slui.exe
After running the last command a Window should appear and if all has been successful it will have re-activated.
