The NetManager Console
The Console is the keyboard and monitor that you have plugged into the NetManager (if it is a physical server). If your NetManager is running as a virtual machine (VM), the Console can be accessed from your hypervisor managment tool (e.g. XenCenter).
During boot up messages are printed on it. If the NetManager is not connected to a network, then the Console provides the only method of interacting with the server.
After boot up a standard Login prompt will be displayed which will allow you to log in as user root.
Physical security of the Console is important as it is possible to bypass normal security checks and reset system passwords if a user has direct access to the hardware.
Under some circumstances the cCnsole can be redirected to a serial port instead of using the keyboard and monitor.
On a physical console, there are 4 virtual consoles which can be switched between with Ctrl-Alt-F1 to Ctrl-Alt-F4. This allows you to log in 4 separate sessions.
